SSBM Coins

Thanks to Zelda's Fox 38:
The new "Coin Mode" feature in Super Smash Bros. Melee is both a complicated and simple fighting addition to Stock and Time Modes.  Basically, you try to whip the floor with your opponent and get coins for doing so.  The change works like this:
So, let's say you're Captain Falcon and you've just delivered a whopping Falcon Punch to Kirby.  You would damage Kirby 25%, so you would receive 2 gold coins and 1 silver coin.  Easy concept, right?
Wrong.  Every time a player hurts you, they gain coins too.  You cannot lose coins, however, until you die.  When you do, half of your coins or 100 coins of yours are scattered onto the arena, where your friends and opponents can collect them from you.  The sorter amount will be chosen for this, so it's good to get greedy by all means.
The bonus thing about this coin mode is that you can use these coins to play "Slot Games" and win trophies, which may or may not be any good for the battle.  That is yet unseen.  These trophies will give you data on certain characters, like Andross, K. Rool, Pit, and many other characters.  You may also receive vehicles, such as the Zero-One or the Blue Falcon.
In conclusion, the purpose of the Coin Mode is to collect the most coins by either
Killing your opponents, or
B- Delivering high blows to them repeatedly.
What a way to earn your allowance.
